If the sellers list their home too high then it merely chases the market down and spends far too much time on the market. However, look over the list below the form regarding getting your home in shape. Please realize these are just suggestions and no one would do all of them. But they will help you look objectively at your home.

Kitchen
- The kitchen is the most important room in the house. Make it bright and attractive. New paint, curtains etc.
- Make sure it is spotless. Check stove, floors, windows etc.
- Clean the hood.
- If flooring is worn, replace (if it is economically feasible).
- Replace loose tiles on counter.
- Remove any appliances and knick-knacks you keep on counter-uncluttered it. Makes it look bigger.
Living Areas
- Have all the walls in top shape. Repair cracks, nail holes and seams.
- Wash windows.
- Replace broken glass and missing/broken screens.
- In painting stick to white or neutral colors.
- Replace or re-dye faded curtains.
- Clean out fireplace. Clean and vacuum. Fix doors/sliders that stick.
Bathroom
- Repair any dripping faucets.
- Keep fresh towels in the bathroom. Remove any stains from toilet, sink and tub.
- Unclog sink or tub if drains slowly.
Garage
- Clean out garage and throw out that which you aren't going to take and box up what you won't need until move into new home.
- Make sure the garage door works.
Outside
- Make sure front yard and porch are clean looking. Repaint front door if necessary. Think "curb appeal".
- Trim shrubs, lawn mowed. Fresh flowers
- Paint house-this really does wonders.
- Replace missing shingles, downspouts.
Additional Inside Tips
- Neatness makes a room look larger.
- Put excess furniture in storage.
- Avoid clutter.
- Keep sink and counters free of dishes.
